He has been actively involved in the theatre scene in Fredericton with Theatre St. Thomas, Calithumpians and Valley Young Company both on stage and behind the scenes. He is currently serving as President of Theatre St. Thomas and his play "Rooks and Pawn Things" was produced as part of Notable Acts 2009 season.
Outside the theatre, Jake has been involved in a wide range of other projects. He has been co-host of Barry Award winning radio show "The Weird, The Beard and The Vegan" since Fall 2009 and is currently also the co-host of "Naked Airwaves". After working on a number of film projects with a group of friends in high school (Including Jeremy, Stephen and David) under the name 'Fireside Studios', in 2009 he co-founded Three Between Studios with Jeremy Fowler. Alongside Three Between Studios, Jake has worked closely with Stephen Belyea in the founding of SYL- a crazed collective of film, music and art projects that harken back to a more raw "on the run" style.
Stephen Belyea
From an early age, Stephen has been fascinated with Film, Animation, Writing and Photography.
From his first access to a video camera, he has shot or animated dozens of comedy, horror and
action shorts. Now, armed with a Broadcast Journalism degree, Stephen can often be found
wrestling that narrow line between fact and fiction film-making with his writing, directing and editing.
With a wide range of work under his belt (from a fund-raising production for the John Peters
Humphrey Foundation, to documentary/news features in college, to shooting live music with
Hemmings House Pictures, to a contract aboard a luxury cruise ship working broadcast and a/v, to
numerous funny and satirical YouTube shorts, to teaching photography and video production),
Stephen Belyea is fit and eager to tackle any production on any level. He lives in Fredericton now,
and can typically be found working on any number of written, musical, satirical, or photographic
projects.
Stephen has been in collaboration with Jake Martin and Jeremy Fowler (of Three Between Studios)
on various levels since meeting the pair in high school. SYL Films marks a return of their trademark
improvised guerilla filmmaking.
